A beautiful sea of purple is what we are hoping for some day! Not this year but maybe next year! Phenomenal Lavender is our main variety with over 1100 plants. They are a deep purple & highly fragrant. Blooms should begin in June. We also have a few other varieties as well.
Zinnias rank right up there with our Lavender on the number of plants we plant each year on the farm. Such a hardy vibrant bloom! We have Giant Benary, Oklahoma & Queen Lime varieties!
Before I started flower farming, I was a huge flower nut! However, I never knew there were tall Snapdragons...I was only aware of the shorter varieties! These are striking...Rocket, Madame Butterfly, Potomac and Chantilly will grace the farm this year!
Succession planting is the key with sunflowers! This year we will succession plant mainly the Pro-Cut series of sunflowers but will have a few branching types as well.
Beautiful cut flowers. So many varieties. Some of the options on the farm in 2023 are: Celway Mix, Pampas Plume, Flamingo Feather and Texas Plume! Photo courtesy of Farmer Bailey.
Such an elegant bloom that resembles a rose. Grown as an annual in Iowa. The farm will be growing Apricot, Yellow, Lavender, Light Pink and a rose-colored option. Photo courtesy of Farmer Bailey.
Flowers can be an addiction, especially Dahlias! So many varieties I would never be able to list them all! So beautiful! I will have plenty of Cafe Au Lait this year and it is one of the most popular varieties!
This is a great filler flower for bouquets. Such cute little circular blooms in purple, pink and white.
I love this perennial. I love the flower and the greenery on it. They come back vigorously every Spring!
Another favorite of mine. A perennial. A more common name is Black Eyed Susan. The variety on the farm is Indian Summer. It blooms the majority of the summer. So stunning! Photo courtesy of Farmer Bailey.
**These are just some of the varieties that Jester Hill Farm will be growing this year. We offer many others as well! Coco Marigolds, Ageratum, Dianthus, Veronica, Lemon & Cinnamon Basil, Crespedia, Dara, Yarrow, Amaranthus, Echinops, Bupleurum, Feverfew, Baby's Breath etc.
